Jacksonville Mexican Restaurants

My Experience with Jacksonville Mexican Restaurants

Last summer my family and I went to Florida for summer vacation. Florida is special in more than one way however we were all surprised with large number of Mexican restaurants and big influence that Mexican culture has over this great American state.

At times I felt as if I was in Mexico, and I have been in Mexico more than once. I love traditional Mexican food and almost every Sunday I take my wife and kids to some Mexican restaurant in Chicago or nearby (I live in Chicago).

Of course I knew that there are many Mexican Americans living in Florida but one of the things that I didnít know is that Jacksonville is a true Mecca of Tex-Mex food as well as traditional Mexican food.

We visited five Jacksonville Mexican restaurants and all of them were great. The food was always fresh and very tasty. Every day we were eating different Mexican specialties including the Mexican sea food, traditional Mexican dishes, Tex-Mex food, etc.

The service is very similar like in Mexico which means that it is very friendly, pleasant and not always very professional. However if you are familiar with traditional Mexican culture you understand that Mexicans in general are like that-warm hearted, great culinary masters, and direct.

Another big surprise was that restaurants in Florida serve authentic Mexican cocktails (alcoholic and nonalcoholic), some rare brands of Tequila as well as Mexican vine and beer that you can usually have only in Mexico.

Kids were enjoying great and healthy Mexican nonalcoholic cocktails and my wife and I enjoyed authentic Mexican vine and beer.

In conclusion, if you ever visit Florida you should not miss an opportunity to visit Jacksonville and great Mexican restaurants that serve all kinds of Mexican food and drinks that you would enjoy as my family and I did.
